Local Trade Union Branches

 

The Finnish Seafarers´ Union has 10 membership associations, trade union branches.

Each member belongs to one of these local trade union branches. The membership is defined according to the place of residence or the traffic area of the vessel concerned.

Three of the trade union branches are national: Harbour-branch, Travel and forwarding branch and Ship’s entertainment professionals.

The branches offer their members support, education and the possibilities of participating in leisure-time and recreational activities.

The local trade union branches offer their members possibilities to participate in the branch’s decision-making process. Members can also influence the Union’s operations and the forming of objectives.

It is possible to change from one local trade union branch to another by providing notification in writing to the membership register of the Finnish Seafarers´ Union.
