The most important task of the Finnish Seamen’s Union is to promote the interests and defend the rights of seafarers. Our activities start with our members and are based on justice and equality, through vigorous negotiations.

The Finnish Seamen’s Union is one of Finland’s oldest trade unions. Our long experience in the sector of maritime and inland water transportation guarantees developed and specialised collective bargaining for our members.

The Finnish Seamen’s Union has 11 local trade union branches, membership of which is defined according to the place of residence or the traffic area of the vessel concerned. The branches offer their members support, education and the possibilities of participating in leisure-time and recreational activities.
