Membership of the Finnish Seamen’s Union guarantees many benefits for you. The most significant benefit you receive is your own sector’s collective bargaining agreement, which is negotiated by the Finnish Seamen’s Union. In the agreement e.g. the minimum limits of your wages/salary, working hours, overtime remuneration, holidays etc. are defined. As a member of the Union, you will also receive help and advice in other working life issues either from your working place’s shop steward or from the personnel of the Finnish Seamen’s Union.
