in St. Petersburg
The European Transport Federation (ETF)’s Baltic Committee convened in St. Petersburg during 26-28th May 2010. The various seamen’s unions and dockworkers’ of the Baltic states gathered together in the meeting. Representatives of the European Transport Federation (ETF) and the International Transport Federation also participated in the meeting.
The issues discussed in the meeting included the collective agreements and the levels of salaries existing in the Baltic Region, the handling of cargo as well as the unionization of the region’s employees. The participants also carried out group work, during which the following subjects were dealt with in greater detail: the ITF activities in each of the countries, the upcoming planned week of action as well as an analysis of the special issues concerning the Baltic Region.
